4.8(156)Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Nine days from Pokhara into the Annapurna Sanctuary — rhododendron forest, Gurung villages and a 360° amphitheatre of peaks at 4,130 m.
From$985$1,120

Four slow days on Phewa Lake — Gurung home cooking, a Sarangkot sunrise, a paraglide, and a short foothill walk with the Annapurnas in view.
Pokhara is where people plan to stay two nights and end up staying six. This package is built for that — a genuinely relaxed four days that still gets you the sunrise, the flight and the food, without a single 4 a.m. bus.
The cooking class runs from a Gurung family kitchen above the lake, not a demo studio. The foothill walk on day 3 is a real trail to Australian Camp with an 8,000 m wall in front of you, but it is four hours, not four days. Paragliding is included and flown with pilots we have used for years.
Day by day, as it actually runs.
Arrive by air or road and check into a lake-view room. The afternoon is deliberately unstructured — walk the lakeside strip, rent a bike, or do nothing. Around 5 p.m. we row out to Tal Barahi temple on its island and stay on the water for sunset over the far shore.
Pre-dawn drive to Sarangkot for the Annapurna range catching first light — Machhapuchhre goes pink about fifteen minutes before anything else does. Back for breakfast and a rest, then up to Maya's family kitchen for the cooking class: dhido over a wood fire, gundruk, sel roti and a proper Gurung thali you will eat on the terrace.
Drive to Kande and walk up through rhododendron and oak forest to Australian Camp — about two hours of steady climbing to a ridge meadow with the Annapurnas straight ahead. Packed lunch at the top, easy descent, and if the wind is right we head to Sarangkot for your tandem paraglide in the afternoon thermals.
A slower morning at Devi's Fall and the Gupteshwor cave beneath it, then the Tibetan settlement at Tashiling if there is time. Transfer to the airport or bus station for your onward journey, or stay on — most guests do.

The cooking class alone was worth the trip. We ate on the terrace with the mountains right there and Maya's mother kept refilling our plates until we surrendered.

Perfectly paced. I was worried four days would be too slow but it was exactly right. Sarangkot sunrise is as good as everyone says.

First time paragliding and the pilot was completely reassuring. Twenty-five minutes over the lake. I have not stopped talking about it.
