Pokhara food, culture & lakeside experience host
I cook, and then I walk people around the town I grew up in. My Gurung kitchen class runs from my family home above the lake — dhido, gundruk, sel roti, and the fermented things visitors are usually scared of. I also arrange Sarangkot sunrise runs and paragliding bookings with pilots I actually know.

Went in early April for the rhododendrons and it was every bit as good as promised. Walking into the Sanctuary on day 6 made me stop and just stand there.

The cooking class alone was worth the trip. We ate on the terrace with the mountains right there and Maya's mother kept refilling our plates until we surrendered.

Perfectly paced. I was worried four days would be too slow but it was exactly right. Sarangkot sunrise is as good as everyone says.

First Himalayan trek and the right choice. Hard but never frightening. The hot springs on day 8 are a genuinely inspired way to end it.

Excellent guiding and organisation. Teahouses above Chhomrong get very cold at night in February — take a warmer bag than you think you need.

First time paragliding and the pilot was completely reassuring. Twenty-five minutes over the lake. I have not stopped talking about it.
